What would I say about the AmericInn by Wyndham in Fort Pierre? We’re so much more than a place to lay your head after a long travel, vacation, or work day. As the only hotel in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area located directly on the Missouri River, we have beauty right out your bedroom window.
We offer amenities that you’ll see at other lodging facilities like our indoor pool and hot tub. What makes ours extra special, though, is that the pool and hot tub face the Missouri River. What an experience to lounge in a hot tub watching the evening light change in the sky, reflecting on the river, as the sun sets in the west. In the winter, we provide an easy way to maintain your exercise routine by equipping our gym for your personal use! Located adjacent to the pool, so you can see the Missouri River while working out, our gym has a variety of machines to use.
Be sure to take a leisurely stroll on the walking path, located just outside the hotel, to an evening dinner at Drifters or head the other direction and see more of the river and part of our local community. If you’re tired when upon returning back to the hotel, grab a drink from the lounge and simply sit on the patio watching the various boaters playing on a warm summer evening or fishermen casting their lines hopeful for an evening fish dinner. The peaceful sound of gently lapping water on the rocks will diminish any remaining stress from your day.
To have the full experience, I encourage you to reserve a king deluxe suite with a Missouri River view. Along with an amazing, only in South Dakota sunrise each morning, your suite features a sitting room, hot tub, and fireplace along with free WiFi and a complimentary hot breakfast.
Another perk, if you happen to plan conferences or have a social event on the horizon, is that we have a state-of-the-art conference center on-site. Our event center has the ability to hold up to 200 people for a banquet or conference, throughout our three-room set up.
Lastly, and perhaps a favorite of mine, is that our hotel is ideal as a walkable location in Fort Pierre. Because much of our community and businesses are spread out between Pierre and Fort Pierre, it might seem challenging to function without a vehicle while in our area. If you’re flying into the Pierre Regional Airport, we provide free airport shuttle for our guests. Once at our hotel, it’s a short and lovely walk to locally owned Drifters Bar & Grille, Pizza Ranch, or Perkins. A fully stocked convenience store is located nearby as well as couple watering holes, including the lounge within our hotel. Plus, walking to some of the local attractions such as The Depot, Fort Volunteer, The Log Cabin, and the Verendrye Museum are a nice way to get in your daily steps. In 2025, a new plaza will be completed near the Missouri Bridge. This plaza will have an exploration and play area for children, historical information for adults, and provide a beautiful area to explore.
